LHC fixes bail request of Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman for eleventh 

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Registrar's Office has fixed the bail request of Jang/Geo Editor-in-Chief Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman in a 34-year old property case for June 11.

On the last hearing, a seat involving Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem and Justice Farooq Haider had heard the bail appeal and looked for an answer from the NAB by May 28. In the mean time, the seat disintegrated because of move of Justice Naeem to Rawalpindi seat of the high court and Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman's bail appeal was not taken up on May 28. According to the new program of sitting appointed authorities, a division seat including Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi and Justice Farooq Haider was framed to hear NAB-related cases. It will take up Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman's bail appeal on June 11.

The NAB had captured Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman on March 12 when he showed up before its examination group. He was sent to prison on legal remand on April 28 by a responsibility court. The agency affirmed that Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman unlawfully acquired exclusion of 54 plots each estimating one Kanal arranged in Block-H, Johar Town.

In the interim, the reason rundown of the Lahore High Court division seat, established to hear petitions identified with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), has been dropped for the following week starting from June 8.

The seat contains Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi and Justice Farooq Haider who won't be accessible during the following week as he has gone on leave.

The seat was planned to hear a few bail petitions by suspects in NAB cases during the following week including that of Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman on June 11.

Presently the seat will be accessible from June 15. For the week initiating from June 8, six division seats and 24 single seats will perform legal work at the chief seat.\
